Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgeon & Sports Medicine Specialist located in Brentwood, Los Angeles, CA

About Dr. Koenig

Jonathan H. Koenig, MD, is a fellowship-trained pediatric orthopaedic surgeon at Los Angeles Pediatric Orthopaedics serving the Brentwood community on the Westside of Los Angeles. Though Dr. Koenig specializes in treating children and young adults, he’s happy to help any patient who still feels young at heart.

Growing up on Long Island in the suburbs of New York City, Dr. Koenig was a tri-sport athlete who went on to play varsity lacrosse at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut. He graduated from Yale with a degree in the history of science and medicine. He then returned to New York City to earn his medical degree at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx.

Dr. Koenig completed a five-year orthopaedic surgery residency at Lenox Hill Hospital in Manhattan's Upper East Side — home of America’s first official sports medicine department. His training included rotations at world-leading institutions like Boston Children’s Hospital, R Adams Crowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, Maryland, and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City. Dr. Koenig served as chief resident during his final year and completed a traveling fellowship at The Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne, Australia.

Leaving New York City for sunny Southern California, Dr. Koenig finished a one-year fellowship in pediatric orthopedics and scoliosis surgery at the world-renowned Rady Children’s Hospital-San Diego. He’s honored to bring his wealth of knowledge and extensive experience to the Westside of Los Angeles, where he resides with his wife, Dani.

As a former athlete and orthopaedic patient himself, Dr. Koenig has a personal understanding of all aspects of the care he provides. From sports-related injuries like broken bones to limb deformities and joint pain, he makes sure that every patient receives prompt, highly individualized treatment. He’s also happy to provide emergency care for traumatic injuries as they arise.
